Election: PDP Stakeholders Want Mu'azu Removed from Office if...

Major stakeholders and some  founding fathers of the People's Democratic Party,PDP in Adamawa state have called  for the sack of the National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu, and members of the National Working Committee of the party if the party  fails to win at least 20 governorship seats in Saturday's governorship elections .‬
‪The stakeholders explained that such failure was enough reasons for him to resign or be forced to leave the seat.‬

‪Speaking to Journalists in Yola on Friday ,the spokesman of the founding fathers of the PDP, Senator Abubakar Halilu Girei said they had  resolved to ask the National Chairman and NWC members to resign if the party fails to get at least 20 out of the 36 states of the federation.‬
‪He said they would be forced  to resign if they did not meet the benchmark  by producing at least 20 governorship seats across the country.‬
‪Girei lamented that the PDP stakeholders have smelt rat in the process of nomination and the emergence of governorship candidates that were not popular with their people but by sheer greasing of the palms of NWC members they emerge as candidates at the expense of those popular with the people.‬
‪He said  their decisions were informed by series of petitions ,complaints of aggrieved governorship aspirants, and the allegation that money exchange hands between those offered the governorship tickets.‬
‪Girei explained that their decision of nominating unpopular candidates had led to division and many stakeholders defected to other political parties to actualize their ambitions.‬
‪He however, said if the party wins at least the targeted 20 governorship seats ,the feats would bail them out,and may not be asked to resign their positions as the National Working Committee of the party.‬
‪The proponents, also resolved that in the alternative, they should resign honourably from their positions if the party fails to win the 20 states in the governorship,or follow the required processes for their expulsion from the party.‬
‪According to them, their expulsion would pave for the desired transformation, where real politicians with high integrity will be installed as leaders who will avoid impunity ,disrespect to the rule of law and abuse of power.
