Fani-Kayode calls Buhari “an uncircumcised philistine”

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has called President Muhammadu Buhari “an uncircumcised philistine”. In a new post on his personal website, Fani-Kayode uploaded Buhari’s image, along a lengthy write-up. The full text reads: “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that has chosen to defy the armies of the Living God? You come against us with Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, Arewa Youths and your brutal army but we come against you in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the Armies of Israel. “Thy servant slew the lion and the bear and so it shall be for this uncircumcised Philistine that has chosen to defy the armies of the Living God. “David had Prophet Samuel, Prophet Zadok and others. “We have Prophet TB Joshua, Bishop Oyedepo and others. Our God is mighty in battle and He is doing a new thing! How can we lose? “Once has it been written and twice has it been said that all power belongs to God and the heavens rule in the affairs of men. “The children of darkness can NEVER overcome the children of light. The sons of slaves can NEVER overwhelm the sons of the Lord. The counsel of the ungodly can NEVER overule the counsel of God. “No matter what comes our way, no matter how many trials and tribulations we pass through and no matter how much pain we suffer, in the end WE SHALL PREVAIL. “Sons and daughters of the realm be strong and let not this merciless tyrant and his minions and servants intimidate you. God’s hand and His love is upon us. We are more than conquerers.”

APC denies meeting with Sheriff

Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo met with former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ali-Modu Sheriff. The party also dissociated its National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, from the meeting. A statement in Abuja on Friday, the party urged stakeholders to disregard the speculation and describing it as “falsehood”. ‘’Following Thursday’s visit of the national chairman of the APC to the Villa, the attention of the party has been drawn to surprising speculations in some sections of the media on the visit. ‘’For the records, the APC national chairman only met with the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari. ‘’He was not aware, neither was he part of the reported meeting between the Vice President and the former PDP national chairman,’’ the statement by APC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said. Abdullahi added that Odigie-Oyegun did not visit the Vice President on the day in question and had equally not met Sheriff in over two years. He therefore said that linking the chairman’s visit to the villa to media reports of Sheriff’s plans to join the APC was an effort to cause confusion and disaffection in the party’s Borno chapter. The party explained that its membership was negotiated at the ward level of intending entrants, irrespective of status.

Why Igbos should remain in Nigeria – Lawmaker

A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Jude Idimogu, on Saturday, said it was too late for the Igbo nation to pull out of Nigeria. Idimogu, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that secession would be injurious to the Igbos. He said: “As a full blooded Igbo man and a Nigerian, I believe, Igbo staying in Nigeria as an entity will prosper the Igbo nation better than pulling out. “After the 1967 Civil war, the Igbo man started all over again to build up; now Igbo nation has made progress in terms of economy and politics. “Though the Igbo nation has not reached where it is expected to be politically, we should dialogue rather than be creating war scenarios. ‘’It is too late to pull out (of Nigeria), Igbo nation has united Nigeria because they have businesses everywhere in this country,” the lawmaker said. The lawmaker urged Mr Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to rescind from any action that could create enmity against Igbos around the country. He urged the Igbo nation to unite with other ethnic groups in the country to articulate their grievances and actualised their dreams. “My children were born in Lagos and some of them don’t even know their state of origin, they speak Yoruba and so many Igbo children are like that across the North and West. “We have our future in Nigeria. The only thing Igbo nation should fight for is political power not by creating war scenario but by merging with other nations/tribes in Nigeria – the Northerners and Westerners. “Most Igbos, over 50 per cent, don’t even believe in Biafra because they have counted the cost from 1970 after the war till 2017. No one wants to go back to square one; it is not possible. “As a person, I am against it; what the Igbo man should struggle for in this entity are equality, fairness and justice, not pulling out. “It is very late to pull out, it will be difficult because majority of us are not ready to fight any war; I don’t want to lose my life nor my sons and daughter in war; I believe we can make Nigeria our home,’’ he said. According to him, even if the Igbo nation wants to pull out of Nigeria, it is not going to be overnight or by aggression, rather it should be via a friendly and democratic process. “Kanu should calm down, unite with Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a tree cannot make a forest,” the lawmaker said. NAN reports that there had been several agitations by IPOB for a Sovereign State of Biafra, the development that lead to the proscription of the group.

Your alliance will end in futility – Oyo APC blasts PDP

Oyo State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has predicted that the ongoing alignment of forces among the opposition politicians in the state ahead of the 2019 elections will end up in futility. APC stated that in view of the involvement of people like former governor, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the alliance will not see the light of the day. Leaderships of the opposition political parties recently started talks geared towards evolving an alignment with a view to dislodging the ruling APC in 2019 using the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Notable among the parties are; Accord, Social Democratic Party, SDP, Labour Party, LP and the PDP. But APC in a statement on Saturday by its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Olawale Sadare while reacting to the alliance dismissed the threat of any alignment or re-alignment by the opposition in the state as incapable of dislodging “a governing party that has distinguished itself as the only vehicle of good governance, peace and wholesome development desired by the majority of the people of Nigeria including the good citizens of the Pacesetter State.” Sadare said, “What they are planning is a civilian coup against the electorate but it would not see the light of the day for many reasons. Most characters involved in the gang-up have had opportunities in the past to impact positively on the lives of the people but they failed as a result of incurable traits of incompetence, selfishness and cluelessness. “For instance, Sen. Ladoja who we can call the arrowhead was on a private radio on Saturday and all he succeeded in doing was display of his crass ignorance of workings of government, democracy and the rule of law. Those who monitored the interview saw in Ladoja a 73 year-old former governor who still would not come out bold on his ambition to contest the 2019 election. “Ladoja said that his own idea of regional integration is about Ondo State sharing its crude oil resources with Oyo State or Lagos State sharing its internally generated revenue earnings with other south west states. He also stated that the newly established Technical University in Ibadan would not see the light of the day for no reasons just like he revealed that he had to back out of an alliance with the present administration when he could not influence the Gov. Ajimobi’s decision. What a man! “Among the co-travelers is a Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin who has a penchant for sneaking into Ibadan from his Lagos abode to cause political mischief like he did at the Olubadan palace few days ago only to run back immediately. Or are we to talk about a politically naive big spender and some troubled EFCC guests as capable of combining misplaced efforts to dislodge the APC in 2019? “Above all, the PDP with which most of them looted the treasury at various times between 1999 and 2015 is dead and buried as it must be emphasized that Nigerians would not support any alignment, re-alignment or gang-up from the same set of fake characters in the future elections. Sponsors of such comedy and those planning to benefit from it should realize that it would end up in futility”.

Obey Buhari’s directive, force Bello to pay salaries – NLC, TUC tells Kogi monarchs

The organised labour in Kogi has called on prominent traditional rulers in the state to intervene in the ongoing industrial dispute in the state. The Trade Union Congress (TUC), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JPSNC) made the call in a statement issued in Lokoja on Saturday. The unions said their call for the intervention of the traditional rulers followed a recent charge given by President Muhammadu Buhari to traditional to mount pressure on state governors to pay workers’ salary. According to the statement signed by Mr Olakunle Faniyi, Mr Kolawole James and Mr Isah Abubakar of TUC, NLC and JPSNC respectively, the traditional rulers cannot turn their face the other way when thousands of their subjects are dying avoidable death. Workers in the state embarked on strike on Sept. 22, demanding payment of outstanding salary arrears and leave bonuses, among others. The workers called on the Kogi government to set up a team to dialogue with them over their demands instead of embarking on propaganda. Faniyi, James and Abubakar also frowned at the use of threat, intimidation and dishing out of outright falsehood about their dispute by the agents of the state government. According to them, the threat of no work no pay in a circular sent to ministries, departments and agencies by Mrs Folashade Ayoade, the Secretary to the State Government, will not in any way make the workers to abandon the struggle. Mr Kingsley Fanwo, Director-General, Media and Publicity to the governor, in a statement insisted that the signatories to the labour’s letter to the government were not civil servants in the state. Also, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the state government to quickly resolve its industrial dispute with the labour. Mr Bode Ogunmola, the Publicity Secretary of the party in a statement, urged government to make workers’ welfare a priority and halt what he called the gradual trend of the state to stagnation. He urged government to urgently address the workers’ grievances and refrain from the temptation to criminalise or politicise the strike.

FG Will Tackle Electricity Supply Challenges – Osinbajo

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, says all that needs to be done to end the challenges hampering regular supply of electricity to Nigerians will be addressed by the Federal Government. Professor Osinbajo gave the assurance on Saturday during the inauguration of a metering company in Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The Vice President who is in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on an official visit, also announced that the Federal Government has disbursed a total of N125m to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state. Elsewhere, he inaugurated a 350 million per annum capacity syringe factory also located in the same local government area, as part of events lined up to mark the 30th anniversary of the state. Professor Osinbajo was accompanied on the official visit by the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udo Udoma. Professor Yemi Osinbajo visits Akwa Ibom State He was received at the airport by the state governor, Udom Emmanuel, and the governors of Delta and Bauchi states, Ifeanyi Okowa and Mohammed Abubakar, as well as many residents and government officials.

Biafra: Lai Mohammed lied about France, UK involvement – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has mocked Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, for claiming that Nnamdi Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had the backing of France and the United Kingdom. Fani-Kayode called Mohammed out in a tweet on Friday evening and asked him to stop lying. He wrote: “U said France was funding IPOB, France said its NOT TRUE. U said u complained to UK about Radio Biafra, UK said its NOT TRUE. Lying Lai Lai!” Mohammed had claimed that France was the “financial headquarters” of IPOB . The Minister also said that the Nigerian government had reached out to the British government, to shut down Radio Biafra. But they refused to do so, as they advocate freedom of speech. Both UK and France have come out to deny the allegations.

Group indicts Ondo govt over attack on Osun Commissioner

A socio-political group, Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF), Osun State chapter, has indicted the Ondo State government over the recent attack on a commissioner from Osun State in the state. Bola Ilori, a Commissioner for Regional Integration in Osun was reportedly assaulted by suspected political thugs on Thursday, during the Zonal Meeting of All Progressive Congress, held in Akure, the Ondo State capital. This was contained in a press statement signed by the duo of Acting Coordinator of the group, Comrade Adeniji Yahaya, and the Secretary, Comrade Tijani Sikiru, the copy which was sent to Daily Post on Saturday. According to the statement, both the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Mr Agboola Ajayi, and the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Ifedayo Abegunde together with their security details were watching as hoodlums descended on Ilori, and almost stripped him naked right in their presence. The group described the incident as a direct attack on the Osun State government, insisting that it was criminal and unacceptable. “The sponsors of those hoodlums who attacked Bola Ilori have forgotten that they have either directly or indirectly attacked and assaulted governor of Osun State, and leadership of the APC in the South West. “We considered the attack as rude, criminal and flagrant disrespect to the rule of law and violation of the right of Hon. Bola Ilori “We, however call on the Inspector General of Police to specially investigate the police personnel deployed for the conference particularly the security details of the Ondo State Deputy Governor and the SSG who were physically present when the suspected political thugs attacked Ilori. “The urgent arrest of the perpetrators of this act became important going by the way they openly displayed firearms and injured participants at the conference, which pose a serious threat to the peaceful people of Ondo State. “AGF condemn the attack in its totality and demand accelerated process to bring the culprits to book quickly”.

Buhari’s aides came from hell, will return to hell – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has condemned the aides of President Muhammadu Buhari-for attacking the opposition. Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina had said some of those criticising the President will complain about God if they make it to heaven. Adesina made the remark while speaking on the sideline of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), in New York. Reacting to the criticisms that trailed Buhari’s address to world leaders, Adesina described the President’s accusers as “professional critics” who will never see anything good in anything. He said, “Those that condemn the quality of the speech have a right to their views. The funny thing is that most of them may not have read, nor did they listen to the speech. “They are professional critics who never see anything good in anything. If such people mistakenly get into heaven, they will complain about God. “There will always be naysayers around. As the saying goes, no drummer can ever please all dancers. If 98 people out of 100 praise you, there will always be the two, who will never see anything good in what you have done. “We must learn to live with, and tolerate the views of such people. They have a right to their opinions.” But reacting via a tweet Saturday afternoon, Fani-Kayode said he’ll await those who find nothing good in the opposition criticisms. “Buhari’s minions know nothing about Heaven,”,he wrote. “Their domain is hell and satan is their god. They came from hell and they will return to hell.

A vote for Obiano is vote against return of Godfatherism

Indigenes of Akpo community of Aguata local government area of Anambra State have affirmed their endorsement for the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano for second term in office. Members of the community in Awka reported that Chief Obiano was the only candidate standing for the November 2017 governorship election in Anambra that does not have a godfather or depending on huge financial assistance to prosecute the election. The president general of the community, Engr Godwin Ezeno who addressed journalists in a press conference to herald an endorsement ceremony the community was planning for the governor said voting for Obiano would held keep godfatherism at bay in the state. Ezeno who was obviously referring to candidates of other political parties who have been accused of being wholly sponsored by different money bags in the state called on Anambra indigenes not to forget the past so easily, where as a result of godfatherism and its attendant insatiable request by godfathers, the state was held down and denied development for a long time. “Godfatherism is gradually finding it’s way back to the political scene of Anambra State. This is judging by present unprecedented maneuvers, and this will surely take us over 20 years backward. “We in Akpo community have adopted The governor as our choice candidate, and we have earlier followed that up with an endorsement of his candidature, and we will be reinforcing it soon again. “All the candidates are good, but only one person is needed for the position, and there is always another time. The governor has led us well, and we proclaim that he is a visionary leader who must be supported by all. There could have been human error here and there, but he remains the best.” The community leader went forward to list some of the governors achievements saying that of all of them, his N20million choose-your-Project initiative, which was launched in communities was among the best. “We have never experienced it in Anambra that government gives you N20million to choose the most pressing need of your community and tackle them with it. Some communities that had executed projects with their money are already being awarded another N20million. Have that ever happened anywhere in Nigeria? “The governor will be in Akpo next week to commission our own N20million project, and we will use the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to his reelection and I am speaking the minds of Akpo people because I am their President general, and they asked me to do so.”

What God told me one-on-one about Nigeria’s breakup – Prophet Omale

The General Overseer, Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministries International, Prophet Emmanuel Omale has allayed fears by some Nigerians over the possibility of the country breaking up or going into another civil war. Speaking in Abuja, the prophecy claimed that Jesus Christ told him “one-on-one” that Nigeria will not only remain united but will also be prosperous. Omale said those agitating for the breakup of the nation would transit to the world beyond, ‎within the next few years. According to Omale, “The Lord told me to tell our Igbo brothers and sisters that, nothing will happen to you in the North‎, so also to others in your places of abode. ‎ ”Nigeria will not divide; I saw it and I sat with Jesus one-on-one and I fell on my knee and I asked, is Nigeria going to divide? and he said no. Nigeria will not divide; Nigeria will come together and we will become one strong nation that will feed the whole world. “The Lord told me: “Don’t join the people that want Nigeria to divide because those people in the next few years, you will not see them again. They will join their ancestors. “The Lord told me to tell the whole world that Nigeria will not divide, there won’t be war. Some of our Igbo brothers and sisters in the North, Kaduna, Borno, Kano,Sokoto and others that want to sell their buildings at cheap prices to move to the East, God said don’t do that. Instead, buy more because there will be peace in this country in the name of Jesus.”

Biafra: Buhari can win battle of one Nigeria without using force – Fayose

The governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to adopt more of the carrot and stick approach in dealing with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other agitating groups rather than the use of brute force. The governor said he was never against the unity of Nigeria. He therefore advised the Federal Government to take the issue of restructuring seriously, urging Buhari to rule with equity and justice. Speaking with Punch, Fayose said, “Nobody wants Nigeria to divide. I’m not for division. Nobody is promoting disunity or anarchy. But, the Federal Government should engage in more of dialogue with agitating groups; it should use the carrot and stick approach rather than guns. “In every family, there are both the good and bad people. Agitation is normal in every society, but the way to go about it is to tread cautiously. Buhari should know that this is not 1984 when the President ruled as a military dictator. “Using brute or suppressive force is not democratic. Running a democracy should not be by propaganda. Democracy is not autocracy. The issue is beyond IPOB. “What this government needs to do is to restructure and this matter should not be handled by the APC. It should not be a party affair. “Having said that, I am not promoting IPOB, but Buhari should lead Nigeria with equity and justice. Let brute force become the last option in matters of agitation. Battles can be won without the use of force.”

2019 election: Wike reveals what APC is doing to win

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has again lamented that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has collaborated with Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to rig elections in the country. Wike said the alleged illegal conspiracy between INEC, APC and Police is a threat to the nation’s democracy. The governor said this on Friday when granting audience to the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, at the Government House, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. According to him, following the use of the Police to deny the people of Rivers East Senatorial District their mandate, the ruling party has made it their official policy. He said, “The strategy has been adopted by the APC was experienced in Rivers State during the rerun elections. We have to alert all other Nigerians about this strategy. “The alarm we have raised on the printing of fake result sheets was correct. They used Special Anti-robbery Squad to abduct INEC officials and smuggle in fake results.” Wike further urged all the political parties in the country to be vigilant and stop the actualization of the plot of APC to rig the 2019 polls. “They know Nigerians are tired of being deceived. That is why they will plan to massively rig the 2019 elections. As IPAC members, you must be vigilant. “They will do everything possible, including killing dozens of persons to remain in power. This is because the people have rejected them. “Democracy is under threat. We must defend it.”

Trump is modern Goliath seeking extinction of other nations – Robert Mugabe

Zimbabwe’s President, Robert Mugabe has described US President, Donald Trump as biblical Goliath who only seeks extinction of other nations. Mugabe said this while speaking at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, calling on Trump to embrace peace and dialogue which are the tenets of the United Nations. The 93-year-old President said Trump threatens the existence of other nations, adding that the US President is a modern version of the biblical Goliath. He said, “We believe a different and better world is possible. The continued denial of the rights to self-determination to the people of Western Sahara and Palestine, who are living under colonial and foreign occupation, is immoral and an urgent issue for those seeking peace in our time. “My country is an unflinching advocate of the respect of independent and sovereignty rights of each country. We cannot, however, remain silent when those decisions negatively affect our own welfare. “And on this, may I say some of us were embarrassed, if not frightened, by what appears to be the return of the biblical giant called Goliath. Are we having the return of Goliath to our midst who threatens the extinction of other countries? “May I say, today, United States President, Mr. Trump, please blow your trumpet in a musical way towards the values of peace, unity, co-operation, togetherness, dialogue which we have always stood for and which we read in our very sacred document — the charter of the United Nations. “Upon those values, each nation can build its greatness, including the United States. And it’s the greatness in recognising those values that we will want to be guided by and not by the promise of our damnation. “Damnation we shall always resist, no matter whence it comes. We have resisted when it was in the form of imperialism, as we fought for our own independence and culture and sovereignty to be masters of our own destiny. “That is why we call ourselves free today. It is because the monster of imperialism was defeated by us. Bring us another monster by whatever name, he will suffer the same consequences.”

Presidency insists Buhari is working, gives reasons

The Presidency has said contrary to claims by some section of Nigerians, President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government is working. Personal Assistant to Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, made the declaration while presenting fact sheets on the Buhari’s administration. In a series of tweets via her social media page, the Presidential aide wrote: “What the noise was all about. What they did not want you to hear or See. But the government was not distracted. The fact sheets posted below her tweets reads in part: “Restoring the moral of Nigerian Military: Reorganizing and better equipping the Nigerian Armed Forces. “Purchase of 12 Super Tucano aircraft worth $600m to aid the Nigerian Military’s current operation in the North East. “Ensuring continued peace in the Niger Delta through constituent funding of Federal Government’s Amnesty programme for ex-Militants. “Implementing the National Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, ERGP, to aid economic recovery, taking the country out of her worst recession in 29 years despite fall in oil price. “Trillions expended on capital/infrastructure project nationwide, a milestone in the nation’s history. “Effective implementation of Treasury Single Bill Account and increasing government revenue by over N3trillion.”

Buhari: Presidency reveals who will decide if president will contest in 2019

The Presidency has revealed that only President Muhammadu Buhari can disclose his plans for the 2019 Presidential election. Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said this while speaking on the sideline of the United Nations, UN, General Assembly in New York. Adesina stressed that currently, his principal is concentrating on delivering his campaign promises to Nigeria, adding that when he decides on 2019 election, Nigerians will be told. According to Adesina, “It is only President Buhari who can say definitively whether he would run in 2019 or not. When he decides yes or no, the country would be told. For now, he is concentrating on fulfilling his campaign promises to the electorate.” On the plans of the Federal government to attract Foreign Direct investment into Nigeria, Adesina said, “Even at UNGA, there was a parley with the business community, which attracted about 80% American businessmen. “A good number have expressed desire to do business in Nigeria. Many of such fora hold round the world, and results are showing.”

Enugu APC endorses Buhari for 2nd term

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Enugu State chapter, has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office. The party made the declaration on Saturday, where it also called for the immediate resignation of Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs minister, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama. This was announced by the Enugu State chairman of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye at a press briefing. He urged other presidential aspirants on the platform of the party not to be deceived by certain groups in the State who were scheming to drain their pockets. ‎Nwoye described President Buhari as a great reformer, who had shown total commitment towards Nigeria’s development. Calls for Onyeama’s resignation was hinged on his alleged abysmal performance, which the party said climaxed at the just concluded United Nations General Assembly.
