Operation Python Dance II : Abia stakeholders criticise military

The military is still facing criticism for its intervention to quell the unrest caused by the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB. Some stakeholders in Abia State say the military should be blamed for the violent clashes and attacks carried out by the group in Umuahia and other parts of the country. They have also suggested dialogue between the Federal Government and IPOB as well as reorientation of the group’s members on the need for peaceful agitation. Army authorities have however debunked insinuations that the ongoing offensive in the southeast is targeted at law-abiding civilians or any group of persons. The Abia State Government for its part is also optimistic that operation python dance will help to improve security of lives and properties of the people.
