Ivory Coast and Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier has reportedly agreed to join Manchester United, but must now await the verdict of his ongoing trial.

Paris United reports the defender is now awaiting trial to see if he can travel to the UK to finalise the move.

Jose Mourinho is not the only Premier League side interested in the 24-year-old, who has been made dispensable by Unai Emery. Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly keen on his services.

Barcelona, Juventus and Inter Milan have also been mentioned as possible suitors for Aurier.

The 24-year-old has recorded 19 assists over the past five seasons in the French top tier, a record for a defender in France.

The CSOs in a statement by its coordinator, Adeola Soetan expressed concern that the kidnap happened for the second time and that the boys spent 65 days.

Sahara Reporters Owner, Sowore Reveals Why There Is No More Corruption In Nigeria

Sahara Reporters Owner, Sowore Reveals Why There Is No More Corruption In Nigeria

Omoyele Sowore, publisher, Sahara Reporters, says there is no more corruption in Nigeria because there is nothing else to steal.

Sowore said this in his presentation at the Tracking Faulty Towers workshop which held at the University of Kent, London.

He jocularly said President Muhammadu Buhari became sick as a result of the money stolen in Nigeria.

Sowore expressed delight that Nigeria is no longer among the ten most corrupt countries.

“There is no corruption in Nigeria anymore because there is nothing else to steal and loot,” he said.

“When Buhari saw how much has been looted, he became sick… We are happy that Nigeria is no longer among the ten top countries in the world.”
He said corruption thrives in Nigeria because of the weak institutions and compared Nigeria’s anti-corruption mechanisms with that of more developed countries.

Sowore also said western countries accepting loot from Nigeria should be blacklisted.

“Western countries accepting Nigeria and other countries stolen money should be the ones tagged corrupt,” he said.

“In my village, the custodian of stolen things is seen as the main criminal… People cannot steal in western countries because where to keep the stolen money is a challenge.

“The Western world made their system very difficult to steal and loot money.”

Federal Government Has Not Defeated Boko Haram – Ayo Fayose

Federal Government Has Not Defeated Boko Haram – Ayo Fayose

There were reports that Boko Haram insurgents have been defeated, Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose has issued a statement saying its not true.

The statement statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi says, ‘Boko Haram is not defeated. It has not even been degraded. The brutal killings by Boko Haram all over the place gives the lie to the APC-led Federal Government’s assertion that it has won the battle against insurgency’.

“The battle is not over yet. In fact, it is raging fiercer than ever before. The gory killing of the oil workers confirms this. The wanton destruction of lives and property all over the place by Boko Haram also testifies to this fact. “Like the ostrich, this government is trying hard to cover what cannot be covered. Boko Haram ambushes and kills soldiers at will’.

“Gallant officers and men continue to fall in battle to the superior fire-power and higher morale of the insurgents. Boko Haram invades and sacks communities at will, carting away human beings and other resources. The insurgents throw bombs with reckless abandon. Is this the evidence of a degraded or defeated Boko Haram?

“Transparency International’s revelation that the military inflate military contracts to siphon money meant for the war efforts explains why the insurgents are waxing stronger and remain undefeatable.

“The war against insurgency has become a conduit for the siphoning of the resources of this country. Boko Haram is now the pot of soup or “amnesty” largesse of the APC government.”

“They keep pulling the wool over the eyes of the gullible with their lip-service commitment to the war against corruption and insurgency. But come 2019, they will know that the people are not deceived”, he added.

“President Buhari Has Been On Life Support”- Governor Fayose Insists (Video)

“President Buhari Has Been On Life Support”- Governor Fayose Insists (Video)

Following backlash from Nigerians after photos of President Buhari in a meeting with PDP governors surfaced online, Governor Fayose has finally spoken.

Recall, the Ekiti state governor in a statement released in June threatened to release photos of Buhari in the UK. Meanwhile after some PDP governors were delegated to see the president in London and the pictures went viral, Fayose was dragged on twitter.

However, in a more recent interview, Governor Fayose maintained his initial claim, adding that Buhari had been on life support at some point.

He said;

“What I said about the president is very clear. I said that the President at a point before these recent visits was incapacitated and has been on a life support. I stand by it. I stand by it. I have no regret for that statement.

“You would recall that I said the Handlers of the President should produce evidence to the contrary within 48 hours. After 4 weeks, they said they went to visit the president. Thank God the President is getting better now but there is no denying that what I said at the time was the truth.

“If you go by the statement of the governor of Ebonyi, he said the President’s recovery is a miracle, it is divine which means something had gone the other way round before becoming a miracle. I read in another piece that the President came up like Lazarus from the dead. Well, that is another person saying that.

“I stand by what I have said. Not in the wish that the President must die. Don’t forget, that the President owes it to us all to declare his state of health. The president’s life should be an open book that should be read by everybody.”

2019 Presidency: OBJ Endorses David Mark, Says He Remains The Best Candidate

Chief Obasanjo, who landed at the VIP wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja where he was accosted by journalists to sample his opinions about the country and 2019 elections, says he has confident in the ability of Sen. Mark, to stabilize the country if Nigerians could entrust their mandates with him.

Obasanjo who described David Mark, as one of the intelligent politician so far, noted that the like of Sen. Mark, are very few in the country, hence the need to tap from his experience. Chief Obasanjo, said he is no longer a politician but can support any formidable and eligible candidate that has the requisite experience that will address the numerous challenges confronting the the already comatose country.

What is unclear is whether chief Obasanjo will return to PDP to play active role again to ensure that David mark win the party’s ticket, recall that it was reported when ex-President Obasanjo publicly tore his PDP membership which marked his exit from the party.

Chief Obasanjo’s support for David Mark may simply hint Nigerians about the new permutation and scheming ongoing on the background by the so called landlords of the country which may mean that they have stopped their support for this current administration.

He however called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the fast recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that prayer remain the only alternative solution to the health of the ailing President.

ASUU Threatens Strike If FG Doesn’t Rescue Abducted Lecturers

The Peoples Democratic Party, the Nigeria Labour Congress and civil rights groups, on Sunday, lashed out at the Federal Government for the killing of lecturers and oil workers on their way to the Lake Chad Basin by the Boko Haram sect.

Also, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has threatened to “call out” its members if its abducted members in the University of Maiduguri are not freed.

At least 48 people, including five lecturers of UNIMAID, about 15 soldiers, 11 members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and workers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, were killed on Thursday on their way to prospect for crude oil in Barno Yasu in the Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Nigerian Army had, in a statement on Friday by its spokesman, Brig-Gen. Sani Usman, said it had rescued some of the workers, who were attacked by the sect.

Shortly after the Army issued the statement, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, said he was not aware of rescue.

In a statement on Saturday, the Army spokesperson, said the error in his earlier statement about the rescue of oil workers was “not deliberate”.

‘If Nigeria Cannot Be Restructured, Let It Disintegrate’- Fani Kayode Says

‘If Nigeria Cannot Be Restructured, Let It Disintegrate’- Fani Kayode Says

A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has said that if Nigeria cannot be restructured, let it disintegrate into smaller independent entities.

Fani-Kayode said this in reaction to the National Assembly’s rejection of the proposal to devolve more constitutional powers from the centre to the states which would have kicked-off the process of restructuring Nigeria in earnest.

He urged Nigerians to understand that restructuring the country can never be achieved through the 1999 constitution or the current National Assembly.

According to him, the system was rigged and designed to protect and preserve itself, adding that and the core north effectively had a power of veto in the National Assembly which it will always exercise in order to block any form of restructuring.

Fani-Kayode wrote on his Facebook page: “For those commentators in this forum who have never participated in or understand Nigerian politics but who tend to speak and act as if they are the only ones that are sincere about restructuring I have the following to say.

“I hope you have learnt a lesson or two from the fact that during the constitutional review exercise that took place in the last few days the Senate has refused to devolve power from the centre and initiate the process for genuine restructuring in our country.

“These are the hard facts, hidden obstacles and bitter realities about the struggle that some of us that are in the field have been facing and complaining about for the last 25 years!

“From henceforth let it be clearly understood by all, including those that desire restructuring but who have never participated in Nigerian politics, that we can never achieve it through the existing constitutional structure or the National Assembly.

“This is because the system is rigged and designed to protect and preserve itself and because the core north effectively has a power of veto in the National Assembly which it will always exercise in order to block any form of restructuring. It is this point that people like Nnamdi Kanu and other ethnic nationalist leaders came to appreciate long ago and it explains their ‘hardline’ posture on these issues.

“The bottom line is as follows: restructuring will not be given to us freely or on a platter of gold.

“It must be taken and if necessary it must be taken by force.

“Finally mark this: if it does not eventually come then I say let us cease to be one nation.

“I would rather live as a free man in an independent Oduduwa Republic than continue to live and die as a slave in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Aliko Dangote Shares Business Success, Reveals Daily Routine

Aliko Dangote Shares Business Success, Reveals Daily Routine

President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has given insights into the drive behind the success of his businesses.

This is contained in the 2017 KPMG CEO Outlook, which profiles CEOs from leading corporations around the world to assess their perception of the global economy, their top concerns and their expectations for the near future.

Dangote Group, one of the leading diversified business conglomerates in Africa, generates revenues in excess of US$3 billion and employs more than 26,000 people, with business interests as diverse as cement, sugar, pasta, natural gas, and telecommunications.

“I think really, the future is looking very, very bright,” the business mogul said.

Dangote rather than entering a new market via acquisition, he said, was always focused on building a business from scratch and then “start competing with a lot of existing players.”

“Areas where some of our competitors have been, for 50 years before us, we’ve gone there, we’ve struggled with them, we’ve taken more market share..with no advertisements, nothing,” he added.

Africa’s riches man said another key element behind the group’s impressive growth is its relentless focus on quality.

“What we’re doing is making sure the quality is unquestionable,” he said, adding that when “you’re providing the highest quality product in the market, you’re able to attach a very good price to that product.”

Dangote recalled that when he entered the cement business, he realised the burning question was whether they’d be able to produce cement that rivalled the quality of the established and only other cement producer operating in Nigeria at that time.

He said: “We concentrated on quality. We knew customers would not trust our brand because they’d been used to one brand for over 50 years. That’s how we came out to have the best quality ever.”

Dangote revealed that he rises before 5:30 a.m. every day and after prayers and run 10 kilometres.

He is at the office by 8:30 a.m. putting in 18-hour days on a regular basis.

“I don’t really take my job as something I have to do, it is my hobby. Twenty-four hours in a day really is not enough,” he added.

On the topic of leadership, for any company to be successful, Dangote said: “The main objective for any CEO is to make sure there’s ownership.

“Some of our competitors are not doing well because there’s nothing like ownership in their businesses.

“What we try to train our people on is that they must be committed and they must have ownership of the business.

“Don’t take it as something that you’re doing just to earn a salary. I think that kind of outlook can bring a major change in any business that you operate.”

‘Buhari Eager To Return To Nigeria’- Benue Governor Ortom Speaks After London Visit

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is eager to return home after his medications in London.

He described the great improvement in the health of the president as indication that God is answering the prayers of millions of Nigerians.

His Chief Press Secretary, Mr Terver Akase, quoted him as making this comment shortly after he and other state Governors visited President Buhari at Abuja House in London.

He said the President was in high spirits when the Governors’ delegation arrived and held fruitful discussions and cracked jokes with the team.

“God has answered our prayers. It is one thing to pray and it is another for God to answer; so let us continue to pray. Our God is God of the beginning and the end. As He is healing Mr President, it is our duty to pray so that God will consummate the healing so that our President can come back.

“He is eager to return and is very grateful to Nigerians for praying for him and he wishes us well”, the Governor stated.

Governor Ortom said, “President Buhari showed great concern about the security situation in Benue State and asked him how he was addressing the challenge, saying that he briefed the President on the efforts his administration has made to ensure peace in the state.”

The Governor urged the people of the state to continue to support the leadership of the country both at the federal and state levels to enable the government serve them better.

Buhari And I Have Not Spoken In Two Years, Says Fayose

Buhari And I Have Not Spoken In Two Years, Says Fayose

Ayodele Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state, has revealed that he made several attempts to speak with President Muhammadu Buhari before the president took ill.

In a chat with Interview Magazine, Fayose also disclosed that he has not spoken with the president in the last two years.

Fayose further spoke about his tense relationship with the president.

He stated: “Well, we met twice or so during the Council of State meetings.

“There is nothing personal. I represent Ekiti state, he represents Nigeria. That is the basis of our interaction. Nothing personal.

“For me, during our meeting, whenever any issue arose and I felt I should make a contribution, I raised my hand and spoke. That is it.

“I remember I tried to call him several times before he took ill.

“Then, there was this day I called again and the switchboard told me that any call from me must be diverted to president Buhari’s chief security officer (CSO). And I felt that was very insulting.

“The CSO to the President is an ordinary policeman, who I assume, is just a little over and above my own CSO.

“I am a governor, a governor of a state. I felt that was an insult to the people of Ekiti State I represent.

“Yes my calls to him (the president) were diverted twice to the CSO. I refused to talk to the CSO because I consider it insulting.”
Meanwhile, we previously reported that the chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay, described the Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose as an irresponsible clown.

Sagay made the claim while reacting to Fayose’s recent threat to release damaging photographs of president Muhammadu Buhari to prove that he is critically ill in London.

Angelina Jolie Reveals She’s Developed Hypertension And Bell’s Palsy, Says Her Kids Are Still Healing From Her Divorce

The past year has been rather tough for Angelina Jolie; first her divorce from Brad Pitt and then her health challenges. The actress revealed what it’s been like for her this past year during an interview with Vanity Fair.

She told of how her children have been coping with her split from their father, how she’s been managing her health, and the changes that has taken place in her life. Jolie and her kids spent the first nine months after her separation living in a rental home out of suitcases. Now she’s purchased a $25 million home in Los Angeles and their lives are beginning to settle back to normal.

The Oscar-winning actress said: “It’s just been the hardest time, and we’re just kind of coming up for air. (This house) is a big jump forward for us, and we’re all trying to do our best to heal as our family.”

Jolie refused to give details of what led to her split with Pitt but she explained that “things became difficult” last summer so she decided to pull the lug on their marriage. She dismissed claims that her and Brad’s hectic lifestyle is what tore their family apart.

“(Our lifestyle) was not in any way a negative. That was not the problem. That is and will remain one of the wonderful opportunities we are able to give our children…They’re six very strong-minded, thoughtful, worldly individuals. I’m very proud of them,” she said.

Jolie added that her children have been “very brave…in times they needed to be.”

She continued: “We’re all just healing from the events that led to the filing…They’re not healing from the divorce. They’re healing from some…from life, from things in life.”

Asides the breakdown of her relationship, Jolie’s health also suffered in the past one year. The 42-year-old actress revealed that she has developed hypertension and Bell’s palsy. She also noticed extra grey hairs and dry skin.

“I can’t tell if it’s menopause or if it’s just been the year I’ve had,” she shared. “Sometimes women in families put themselves last until it manifests itself in their own health.”

However, the mother-of-six is handling her health issues with optimism.

She said: “I actually feel like more of a woman because I’m being smart about my choices, and I’m putting my family first, and I’m in charge of my life and my health. I think that’s what makes a woman complete.”

She continued, “I’ve been trying for nine months to be really good at just being a homemaker and picking up dog poop and cleaning dishes and reading bedtime stories. And I’m getting better at all three.”

All the same, the world renowned actress said she’s beginning to get an itch for travel and adventure in the near future. She said that she had a conversation with her son Knox some days before her interview with Vanity Fair and she joked that things in their household will never fully be “normal.”

“He said, ‘Who wants to be normal? We’re not normal. Let’s never be normal.’ Thank you—yes! We’re not normal. Let’s embrace being not normal.”

Michelle Obama Speaks About The Racism She Endured While In The White House

6 Things You Must Do Before Starting Any Business

Creating or starting a business is a huge commitment. It’s not an uncertain path, and often features details you may never have considered.

To make sure you have covered all your bases before kicking off your business adventure.

Naijaloaded shares some of the things you must do before starting any business.

1. Do your research

One of the essential things to do before starting a business is to research the competitive landscape. You do not venture into a business because you have a brilliant idea. If you can’t offer something better or cheaper than your competitors, you may want to re-think starting a business in that area.

2. Ask yourself why

Every entrepreneur should be able to answer the question, Why are you doing this? It seems like a simple question, but you may be going into it for the wrong reasons. It does not matter if it is for money or for the passion. What is needed is for you to have both and maintain focus. Outside of that, you are probably wasting your time.

3. Network

Networking helps you get potential partners and investors. You need to attend events where you will need to talk with many entrepreneurs, who have either succeeded or failed. The most helpful advice to learn is the impact of their lifestyle including finances, personal relationships, and health.

4. Get a mentor

A new business owner should have a mentor. The mentor will offer his advice as well as experience to keep you on track and ensure you do not lose focus.

5. Survey your target market

Determine and survey a focus group of the target demographic for the service or product you are offering. You must ensure that you are delivering what your customer wants, not what you want.

6. Seek legal advice

This is another important point entrepreneurs must take note of before officially opening a new business. They should seek legal counsel. Do not make the assumption that legal counsel is only necessary when you get into trouble with the law.

This article exposes the possible 15 mistakes that may have contributed to your GPA drop.

Using gpa calculator, so many persons are having less than 2.5 on a GPA scale of 5.0. Although there are events you cannot change or avoid; such as getting sick, getting bad news and so on. However, there are avoidable GPA killing mistakes.

6. Is it true that 100L and 200L GPA is usually low?

Identify them below and boost your performance as soon as possible.

GPA KILLING MISTAKES YOU MUST AVOID.

1. FAILURE TO OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION

The 14 letters above is the grave where opportunities are buried. Don’t push things to the future if you can address them in the present. Killing time is not murder, it is suicide. Don’t wait for the exams to be close before you begin adequate preparations.

One reason you should stop swimming in the ocean of procrastination is that you cannot predict the future. Today is the only asset you are sure of. Say no to procrastination.

2. COMPARISON

Comparison is not a proof of anything. Life is not to compete but to complete. You say; “Mr A uses this approach and it works for him, so let me do the same” or “I want to be like peter”. Now, who is Peter? I don’t know but certainly not you. Just be unique; look for what produces the best result for you and stick to it.

3. PRIDE

Nothing kills your GP faster than when you begin to form ‘Mr Pompous’. when you are proud, you become too heavy for people to carry. Humble your self to learn what you don’t know. Ask questions, seek help even from your juniors.

4. YOU ARE TOO SHY

You are too shy to relate with people. Have you forgotten that according to research, you
remember a lot when you teach others or engage in group discussions? if your GP being affected because you are shy, it is time to work on yourself.

5. BAD COMPANY

Are your close friends those who are not serious academically? then stop complaining about your poor performance. Like I always say, your friends are the picture of your future. Review your association immediately.

6. YOU SLEEP TOO MUCH

You can’t be sleeping too much and expect your GPA to be awake. Too much Sleep hasn’t helped you o. You need to check and balance that thing that makes your eyes always close.

7. YOU BLAMES OTHERS

You always have reasons to blame your lecturers or friends for your poor performance. In the beginning, it was not so. The earlier you start taking full responsibilities for your life, the better.

8. YOUR LAST SUCCESS

You relaxed because you did very well the other time. Have you forgotten so soon that your last achievement is your greatest enemy? it doesn’t make sense, but it does. Look back occasionally but forward continuously.

9. YOU SETTLED FOR LESS

You decided to take anything that comes your way. Have you forgotten that any GP can be 0.5? go for what you want. Don’t let anyone tell you to settle for less. Your GPA trend continues until you decide to aim for the very best.

10. INCONSISTENCY

It is better to die standing than to continuously live in your kneels. Don’t have a scattered academic or reading life. Be consistent in your dealings.

11. SKIPPING CLASSES

Some of the things your lecturer say in class are the prophecies of your exam questions. You skipped the class, there you missed the rhema. Academic Rhema is the key to your success.

12. YOU DIDN’T COMPLETE THE SCHEME

The part you left out may likely come out on the exam. Try to cover as much as possible before the exam. The issue of not completing the scheme can be overcome by starting early and being consistent.

13. ADDICTION TO TECHNOLOGY

Your addiction to Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, twitter, games, films, phones and so on, are not helping matters as well. Try to put some limits on your social life.

14. NOT IMPROVING YOURSELF

Self improvement is the beginning of self discovery. Don’t use last session’ information to solve this semester’s reality. Learn how to answer exam questions.

15a. In school politics/unionism you are there without thinking of what brought you to campus it will also make your GPA drop

15b. DISTRACTIONS FROM OPPOSITE SEX

You should be able to explain this one better. You are permitted to allow distractions from the opposite see b . That is, if it doesn’t’ affect your GPA. Else, run very fast. Tell yourself the truth in this aspect. I just want to make common sense..

Boko Haram Abduct 10 University Of Maiduguri Oil Exploration Workers

Boko Haram Abduct 10 University Of Maiduguri Oil Exploration Workers

Suspected Boko Haram members have abducted 10 members of the survey and geological department of the University of Maiduguri in Borno state. They were abducted yesterday July 25th.

NNPC contracted the team to carry out research work on oil exploration activities taking place in the Lake Chad basin. The oil exploration workers who were in company of NNPC officials were on their way to Maiduguri when they were ambushed and kidnapped around Jibi village after a gun battle with security agents attached to the oil workers and the sect members. Some members of the team who were not kidnapped but sustained serious injuries are currently being treated at the Borno state Specialist Hospital.

Confirming the abduction, the University of Maiduguri spokesman Danjuma Gambo said the military is yet to inform them of the kidnap of their staff.

“There is no denying the fact that this incident happened, involving our staff, NNPC workers and security escorts from the military and the (civilian militia). Our staff who were recruited as consultants were on the team that was ambushed. It was clear Boko Haram studied their movements before attacking them,” he told AFP

President Buhari last year issued a directive to NNPC to resume the exploration of oil in the Lake Chad Basin and River Kolnami.

Mark Zuckerberg Fights Elon Musk On Social Media Over Dangers Of Artificial Intelligence

Fight Of The Billionaires! Mark Zuckerberg Fights Elon Musk On Social Media Over Dangers Of Artificial Intelligence

Tech giants, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, took to social media to throw jabs at each other over artificial Intelligence. Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, believes AI poses a risk to humans, while Facebook founder Zuckerberg believes AI is the future of humanity and would make the world better.

We all know that Zuckerberg is pro artificial Intelligence, AI, and created his own personal assistant imbued with artificial intelligence, called Jarvis, which plays with his family and meets a number of their needs. On the other hand, Elon Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, believes artificial intelligence poses a risk to the existence of civilisation and he continually pushes for its proactive regulation.

It all started when earlier in July, Musk told a gathering of US governors that artificial intelligence will cause massive job disruption, that robots “will be able to do everything better than us.” He encouraged the governors to move to regulate AI.

“I keep sounding the alarm bell, but until people see robots going down the street killing people, they don’t know how to react, because it seems so ethereal,” he said.

Musk also expressed dire concern over a future shared with robots, saying:

“I have exposure to the most cutting edge AI, and I think people should be really concerned by it.”

Zuckerberg dismissed these concerns on Sunday afternoon from his backyard in Palo Alto, California. While smoking meats, he went live on Facebook to touch on the topic of artificial Intelligence and took questions from viewers.  A user sent a question, which Zuckerberg read out loud:

“I watched a recent interview with Elon Musk and his largest fear for future was AI. What are your thoughts on AI and how it could affect the world?”

Zuckerberg replied that he was opposed to the spread of fear surrounding the potential of artificial intelligence.

“I have pretty strong opinions on this. I am optimistic,” says Zuckerberg. “I think you can build things and the world gets better. But with AI especially, I am really optimistic. And I think people who are naysayers and try to drum up these doomsday scenarios — I just, I don’t understand it. It’s really negative and in some ways, I actually think it is pretty irresponsible.”

He added: “In the next five to 10 years, AI is going to deliver so many improvements in the quality of our lives.”

Zuckerberg says artificial intelligence is already helping diagnose diseases. He also mentioned self-driving cars and said they will help reduce car accidents.

“Whenever I hear people saying AI is going to hurt people in the future, I think yeah, you know, technology can generally always be used for good and bad, and you need to be careful about how you build it and you need to be careful about what you build and how it is going to be used. But people who are arguing for slowing down the process of building AI, I just find that really questionable. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that,” Zuckerberg says.

Two days later, during an exchange on Twitter, Musk was asked about Zuckerberg’s Facebook Live comment and he wrote that he has discussed the topic with Zuckerberg and that “his understanding of the subject is limited.”

Musk has been issuing warnings about the dangers of AI for years. He expressed concerns that humans will become second-class citizens in a future dominated by AI or we will face a Terminator-style uprising where smart machines could start wars or kill people in streets. To avoid this, over a year ago, Musk took part in creating a nonprofit research company devoted to developing artificial intelligence that will help people and not hurt them.

This will not be the first time Zuckerberg and Musk will have a public squabble. Last September, SpaceX was scheduled to launch an internet-beaming satellite intended for use by Facebook’s Free Basics project in Africa. However, the Falcon 9 rocket exploded, destroying both the rocket and the AMOS-6 satellite that Facebook planned to use to deliver internet connectivity to rural parts of Africa.

Zuckerberg was not happy and took to his Facebook page to write: “As I’m here in Africa, I’m deeply disappointed to hear that SpaceX’s launch failure destroyed our satellite that would have provided connectivity to so many entrepreneurs and everyone else across the continent.”
