ONLY FEMALE MOSQUITOES BITE HUMANS AND ANIMALS; MALES FEED ON FLOWER NECTAR Mosquitoes mean nothing personal when they take your blood. Female mosquitoes need protein for their eggs, and must take a blood meal in order to reproduce. Since males don’t bear the burden of producing young, they’ll avoid you completely and head for the flowers instead. And when not trying to produce eggs, females are happy to stick to nectar, too. 3. The Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN ) on Thursday directed banks to establish a database of their customers identified through their Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) to be involved in confirmed fraudulent activities. The directive is contained in the Regulatory Framework for Bank Verification Number (BVN) Operation and Watch-list for Nigerian Financial System released by the CBN. The implementation of the framework is with immediate effect. CBN Director Banking & Payments System Dipo Fatokun, who signed the framework, said bank customers are to abide by the regulatory framework for BVN operations and the watch-list for the Nigerian Banking Industry and also report all suspicious or unauthorised activities on their accounts. Data from the CBN showed that Nigeria experienced a total of 3,500 cyber-attacks with 70 per cent success rate and loss of $450 million within the last one year mainly through cross channel fraud, data theft, email spooling, phishing, shoulder surfing and underground websites. Although e-fraud rate in terms of value dropped by 63 per cent, after the BVN introduction and improved collaboration among banks via the fraud desks, the total fraud volume rose significantly by 683 per cent. The new regulation is expected to assist the CBN to a great deal, in curbing the menace of fraudsters According to Fatokun, the new framework is in exercise of the powers conferred on the CBN, by Sections 2 (d) and 47 (2), of the CBN Act, 2007, to promote the development of efficient and effective payments systems for the settlement of transactions. He said the framework provides standards for the BVN operations and watch-list for the Nigerian Banking Industry. The watch-list comprises a database of bank customers’ identified by their BVNs, who have been involved in confirmed fraudulent activity in the banking industry in Nigeria.

So obviously within the context of my beliefs and my age, I needed to do something crazy and extraordinary. So, I decided to go on doing all the available courses. So at the same time, I was in the University, I was doing professional exams, I was working. I was a multi-tasker at the age of 20. I graduated at the age of 21. ‘I Was Captured 2 Times By Ritualists And Both Of Them Rejected Me’- Oba Akanbi

The Oluwo of the Iwo Kingdom, Oba Abdul Rasheed Akanbi, has revealed he was captured two times by ritualists and he was let go both times. He said he went missing for 4 months. But I like to talk more about my life. I want people to learn from my own life, my own experience. In 1981, something happened and I had to leave Iwo. I left home and I was lost for 4 months. APC Will NOT Support Young People In 2019 Election’- Joe Igbokwe Speaks (See Reasons)

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Lagos State Chapter, Joe Igbokwe has given reasons the party at national level, cannot support young persons seeking to be Nigeria’s president. The APC chieftain, who doubles as Chairman of the Lagos State Wharf Landing Fees Collecting Authority, said the young ones do not know the country. Stating why the party would not support the “Not Too Young To Run” campaign, Igbokwe asserted that experience was required to hold a political post in Nigeria. He also advised the youths to wait until they were old enough to hold political posts. “When a young person is coming in, experience matters. The young person who is going to come, we want to know his pedigree – where are you coming from, what are you capable of doing,” he told SaharaReporters. “If you pick a young person and make a governor, when he gets to that seat, he won’t know where to start from because you don’t have the experience and have not done that kind of job before. “The young person cannot teach the old traditions; they should go and learn the trade because you can’t give what you don’t have. I will tell young people to be patient and not sound like a wailer. “They don’t understand this country; the young ones are not seeing anything because they don’t want to see it,” he said.

‘Power Generation Hits 7000MW’ – Babatunde Fashola Reveals

The Minster of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has announced that Nigeria’s power generation jerked from 2600MW to 7000MW between 2015 to 2017. Speaking at a book launch in Lagos titled: “Solar electricity generation for off-grid communities in Nigeria” written by the Managing Director of Eko Electricity Distribution Company, Engr Oladele Amoda, Fashola said the fear of privatisation is uncalled for. “It is the best way to go for now because more hands are needed in the sector”, Fashola said. He stressed that it takes a huge capital and policies to run the power sector and the innovation of solar is laudable. According to him, “what we need now is to cooperate with discos and expand distribution but grid extension is capital intensive, that is why solar energy is in order to reach those that are off the grid. “Someone who is whined in the old power sector, now recommending new power (solar) is worth applauding.” He lamented that the country over 17 years had eight Ministers of power and that has not really helped the sector. In his remarks, former Minister of Power, Prof Bath Nnaji, said it saddens his heart that the country is yet to get it right in terms of electricity production in the country. “I said during the reform process that if you are good, the privatisation process will take you to the next level, Amoda is a typical example,” he said.

Goodluck Jonathan Reaveals What President Buhari’s Government Is Good At

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has alleged that the federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari is characterized by lies and propaganda. Jonathan spoke in Abuja on Thursday when he received one of the national chairmanship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, and members of his campaign team in his office. Jonathan said the solidarity being enjoyed by the party even though it lost the election at the centre in 2015 showed that “there is something in the PDP.” While pledging to speak up some day on the achievements of the PDP in its 16 years in power, the former President took a swipe at the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), who as a state governor reportedly said that a serious government at the centre must be able to fix power within six months. The former president observed that more than two years of the APC Federal Government, to which Fashola belongs as a minister, the government had not been able to fix power. He noted that Fashola who made the statement is incidentally in charge of power today. Jonathan said the Buhari government had not done anything since it came to power on May 29, 2015. “The PDP administration for 16 years did well and will continue to do well but this administration has done nothing. They deployed propaganda and lies at a professional level.” “In the power sector, we did well to revive it.
