Good morning! Here is today’s summary from Nigerian Newspapers 1. Oil business magnate and the Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, Dr. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah yesterday formally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. Ubah also declared his support for the Governor of Anambra state and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the November 18 Governorship Election, Chief Willie Obiano. 2. The presidency Saturday released the full list of all the appointees of President Muhammadu Buhari. The release, according to Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina, was in response to the recent media report that 81 of the 100 appointments made by Buhari were from the North, while the other regions shared the remaining 19 appointments. 3. A First Republic Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi has faulted the manner with which President Muhammadu Buhari handled Nnamdi Kanu and his Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, secessionist group. The 88-year-old and the only surviving member of the pre-independence Zikist, said President Buhari handled the Nnamdi Kanu’s issue with his deep hatred for Igbo people, insisting that the President has personal hatred for Igbos. 4. A socio-political group, G42 Imo Liberation Forum, has warned the Okorocha government to desist from “waste of tax payers’ money”. The group said it received information that the administration is set to spend N850m on erecting a tree ahead of Christmas celebration. 5. Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lamented the tragic events that happen to those who occupy Nigeria’s number one seat and their loved ones or individuals who show interest in the position, saying the death of Jide Tinubu was tragic. According to him, one year and six months before the 2019 presidential election, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos state, APC National Leader, Buhari’s closest and most powerful ally in southern Nigeria and a man who, it is rumoured, himself has presidential ambition lost his first son. 6. Twin explosions rocked Enugu Saturday morning as residents filled out to cast their votes in the Local Government election which held in the State. The explosions occurred simultaneously at Coal Camp in Enugu North Local Government Area and Obeagu in Enugu-South Council Area. 7. Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday bombarded Boko Haram terrorists holding a meeting inside Sambisa forest. Air Commodore, Olatokunbo Adesanya, Director of Public Relations and Information, said the fighter jets conducted an air interdiction mission on a large structure in Talala, a location in Sambisa occupied by Boko Haram. 8. Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has snubbed the ongoing 2017 edition of Kabba Day over fear of been attacked by angry youths in the area. It was gathered that the governor was already in Kabba to attend the annual occasion before news filtered around that some youths at the same occasion which the governor was to attend attacked Senator Dino Melaye, lawmaker representing Kogi West in the National Assembly. 9. The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday said that Nigeria will be destroyed easily if the country is separated into tiny countries. According to him, the country is better together; stronger together than separated, noting that there was nothing to be gained by being separated. 10. On the foreign scene, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe on Saturday threatened to sack his deputy, Emmerson Mnangagwa. He made the declaration at a rally where his wife Grace was booed by some party supporters.

2017/2018 HND Admission Screening Exercise For Federal Polythecnic Offa Date Postponed
This is to notify all candidates who applied for admission into the Federal Polytechnic, Offa Higher National Diploma (HND) programme that the management has rescheduled the screening exercise. The screening exercise earlier scheduled to commence on 9th October, 2017 has been rescheduled for Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th October, 2017 at the Polytechnic Main Campus along Offa-Ojoku Road: DATE: Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th October, 2017 SCHOOLS VENUE Applied Science and Technology 1000 Lecture Theatre Capacity Business and Management Studies SBMS Block Communication and Information Technology Library and Information Science Department Engineering Technology ETF ND LR Environmental Studies Building Technology Department Screening interview commence by 9.00am each day. All candidates are expected to come for screening with originals and photocopies of their certificates/credentials and are also advised to submit their Security Forms at the Security Unit on or before 3rd October, 2017, failure to do so will lead to disqualification of such candidates.
