PSquare’s lawyer, Festus Keyamo opens up on split

PSquare’s lawyer, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has now reacted to speculations about the brothers’ rift. In a letter of contract termination, one of them, Peter Okoye, claimed his brother threatened to kill him. Also, a video surfaced online, where Peter, along with Paul and Jude were seen arguing violently and a fight almost ensued. There have been insinuations that the brothers’ wives, money and Jude, could be behind the split. Keyamo’s press statement read: “Our attention has been drawn to the on-going feud between the PSquare brothers in online, print and electronic media. We have also been inundated with calls from the media to authenticate the correspondence Peter Okoye sent to our office, indicating his intention to terminate the contract between the brothers for various reasons and the online video showing a purported scuffle between the brothers in our Chambers. “Firstly, while it is obvious that none of these materials were released from our Chambers, we are thoroughly saddened and embarrassed by these developments. “As their close friends and lawyers over many years, we have done our very best to manage their differences over time and very prominent personalities have been invited in the past to intervene. “We are well aware that we have a duty to keep the details of their disagreements confidential, so we shall say nothing here on the issues at stake. But since the disagreement is now in the public domain, and our name has been dragged into the fray, we wish to appeal to members of the public to refrain from jumping into uninformed conclusions about this feud. “None of these talented brothers are at fault. None of them is also wholly justified and correct in their individual positions. We also wish to state categorically that, contrary to widely held opinions, none of their wives are at fault. In fact, the wives have kept their respectable and dignified distances from all the issues involved. THEY HAVE NEVER INTERFERED in any way. “We also want to state that whilst all the three brothers may have genuine grievances, nobody’s life is at risk. All the various incidents that happened in our Chambers (some as late at 12 midnight and 2 am and one of which was captured in the online video) arose out of various meetings that were genuine attempts at resolving their differences. Whatever was said by all of them that were provocative were done in the heat of passion, emotion, and anger. In fact, the incident in the video circulating online happened sometime around May 2016. After all those arguments, we all still sat down and signed agreements and we were all happy. “We appeal to everyone to please grant the Okoye family the privacy, prayers, and support that they need at these trying times. I have also appealed to all of them not to grant further interviews at this point so as not to escalate the issues further. Whatever is going on is the usual siblings’ rivalry experienced in most families. It is nothing unusual. “We are of the strong opinion that the brothers would eventually put away their differences and come back stronger.”

The letter read; “It is with deep sense of responsibility that I write to inform you of my intention to seek the ticket/mandate of our party to contest the 2019 Presidential election, considering your support and commitment towards our great party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) it becomes imperative to keep you informed and seek your support. “This ambition however is without prejudice to our party’s position, but in the overall interest of the party and our country. “I urge that all hands should be on deck to ensure victory at the 2019 presidential election. “Accept the assurances of my highest regards as a determined presidential hopeful.” On his chances if fielded by the PDP, Governor Fayose said; “I have penchant for taking powers; that one in Buhari’s hand, I will take it. I’m going straight to that Villa. I’m the next president.”

See Who – Thierry Henry Names The Only World-Class Striker In Premier League

Former Arsenal captain, Thierry Henry, has said Sergio Aguero is the only world-class striker in the Premier League. The Manchester City striker has been in brillaint form so far this season, scoring six times in as many games for Pep Guardiola’s team. Although Henry is a fan of Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and Harry Kane, he picks Aguero as the best. “The only one who is world class, or has been world class, is Aguero because of the longevity of what he has done in this league, year in and year out,” he said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football. “He won the league here and he has been doing it the longest. You have to give him a bit of credit. I think sometimes we bypass Aguero like he didn’t happen.”

Continue Reading – Arsenal Boss Wenger Protests Gunners Fixture Pile-Up

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has blamed television for their “cruel” fixture schedule. He said Brighton vs Newcastle should have been Monday night’s live game. Wenger was speaking after the Gunners beat West Brom 2-0, to maintain their 100 per cent home record. Arsenal has now played their last seven games on seven different days of the week. And the Frenchman then admitted he will take a weakened squad for their Europa League game in Belarus on Thursday, with his team playing three matches in an exhausting week. “I have a decision to make about the squad and at the moment I would say that the schedule is a bit cruel. “We played tonight, we play in Borisov on Thursday night, we play Sunday at 12 o’clock here. When you look at the schedule of the weekend I think there was some room for us to be different. We have accept it and we want to go to Borisov with a team of senior players and a young bench. “There is no need to talk to the Premier League about that because it’s the television who decides. For example Brighton – Newcastle on television, they could’ve played on Monday night and we could’ve played on Sunday. “For us the time is very short. But television decides and I don’t complain about that. What I want to say for the selection it has an impact for me for the Thursday and Sunday game because we have another home game and it’s very important we have strong record at home,” Wenger said.

22 Students Bags First Class As Redeemer’s University Graduates 465 Students

The Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State has graduated the total of 465 graduands in the 9th convocation of the university. Twenty two of them bagged First Class honours. The Vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Debo Adeyewa made this known while briefing journalists on Monday, as part of the activities for the convocation. He said while those who bagged First Class honours constituted 4.7 per cent of the total graduands, a total of 145 graduands graduated with second class upper division, which amounted to 31.2 per cent. According to him, 203 graduands came out with second class lower division, which is 43.7 per cent, as others fell into third class and pass categories. Adeyewa explained that the inspiring traits that stood the graduands out was the spirit of oneness and communalism. “It is the first and the most active set that would passionately do everything possible to bring indigent colleagues who are unable to pay their fees back to school,” he said. The Vice-chancellor, however, canvassed for government’ support for private higher institutions of learning, to aid acceleration of research and the development of the education sector. He opined that the establishment of private universities in Nigeria had opened up the academic landscape and had provided access to many candidates who otherwise would have been denied the opportunity of higher education. “Since private universities are contributing to the growth and well-being of our dear country, there is a clarion call on the government to support these institutions”, Adeyewa said.

Man United Ready To Splash £155m For This Highly Rated Juventus Striker

Premier League giants, Manchester United are now preparing a mega million deal to sign Juventus star, Paulo Dybala in the January 2018 transfer window. The Sunday Mirror claims that United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has already been in touch with Dybala’s representatives and has made them aware of Jose Mourinho’s interest. The Red Devils are prepared to tempt the Italian giant with a whopping £155 million for them to lure the Argentine International to England. United boss, Jose Mourinho has been monitoring the 23-year-old since last season and wants the club to make a deal in January. Dybala is currently one of the hottest strikers in Europe and he exemplified his superb quality over the weekend when he scored two goals in his team’s 4-0 win over Torino. Juventus insists Dybala, does not have a release clause in his contract which expires in the summer of 2022. Dybala has scored 12 goals in eight matches for Juventus this season.

EPL – Lacazette Scores Twice As ‘Dominant’ Arsenal BEAT West Brom 2-0

Alexandre Lacazette scored twice to earn a shaky Arsenal victory over West Brom, their third win in a row at Emirates Stadium. The France striker – who has scored in each of those home wins – headed into an open net in the 20th minute after West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster tipped Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick onto the crossbar. West Brom felt they should have been awarded a penalty before the opener when Shkodran Mustafi brought down Jay Rodriguez with a sliding challenge – but no foul was given by referee Bobby Madley. Instead of staying on the ground following the contact, Rodriguez chose to continue but his shot was tipped onto the post by a diving Petr Cech. After the break, Arsenal were themselves rightly awarded a spot-kick when Allam Nyom barged over Aaron Ramsey close to the byeline. Lacazette stepped up and calmly slotted into the bottom right corner – his fourth goal since his club record £46.5m summer move from Lyon. The Baggies caused Arsenal problems in the first half in particular, with Nacho Monreal brilliantly clearing a Rodriguez header off the line in the 38th minute. Victory for the Gunners lifts them to seventh in the Premier League table, one point behind fourth-placed Tottenham and five behind leaders Manchester City.
