Why We Are Seriously Investigating Davido Over Tagbo’s Death, Lagos CP Revealed (Video)

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Imohimi Edgal has explained the reasons why the police are investigating Hip Hop Star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido. Speaking on Channels Television Breakfast Show, Sunrise, Imohimi said the actions of Davido calls for suspicion. He said:- I asked Davido that, ‘When you left that bar, did you have anything again to do with the deceased?’ What he said was that he was only informed by mutual friends in some other bar that the deceased had died and I took his word for it. “I called for further investigations, pulled the CCTV cameras from the General Hospital, only to discover that it was Davido’s escort Hilux van, his driver, his friends that brought Tagbo Umeike (the deceased) dead and dumped in the hospital then fled the scene.” Imohimi said this response by Davido raises suspicion, and that is what is been investigated by the police. “That raises curiosity and of course that’s what we are investigating, and that was why I ordered that the matter be moved to outstate CID at Yaba for proper investigation and of course, we will duplicate the case file and forward to DPP, Ministry of Justice for legal advise, ” He said he believed Davido’s initial statement that he was only informed by mutual friends about Tagbo’s death and even told the actress, Caroline Danjuma to be careful about what she posts on social media because the integrity of someone is involved. “When Actress Caroline Danjuma came up on Instagram that Tagbo Umeike was in the company of the Pop-star, Davido and friends when he died and she suspects foul play. “I was forced to call all parties involved to my conference room as a kind of pre-investigation fact-finding and Davido was there with his family and friends, the victim’s family and friends plus Caroline Danjuma. “I asked questions. I remember even telling Caroline Danjuma that ‘Look you don’t go on your Instagram page without verifying facts because a person’s reputation is concerned.” The acting commissioner of Police in Lagos, however, said that the police is not speculating and the investigation into the case is based on facts. “It is an open sincere process here. Buhari Pledges To Visit South East Soon, Assures Leaders Of New Roads & Rail Projects

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja assured stakeholders from the South-East that the region will benefit more from roads and coastal rail projects to boost the nation’s economy. He told leaders from the region led by Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, that 2nd Niger Bridge, East-West road and the Coastal Rail project were receiving utmost attention from his administration. The President said that counterpart funding from the Chinese government would substantially fund the projects, which when completed, would improve the welfare, well-being and economy of the region. “I know the Chinese are very competent in handling such projects and we will ensure that we get the money for the projects to take off. I thank you for articulating your demands and I want to assure that we are doing our best for the country. If we can stop people from stealing, then there will be more resources to put into projects that will create employment for Nigerians,” he said. On allegations of under-representation of Igbos in his government, Buhari said: “I gave South-East four substantive ministers in the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Investment, Science and Technology, and Labour. Seven states in the North got Ministers of State and of the two ministries headed by your sons, I cannot take any decision on foreign policy and investments without their input.” He also promised the leaders, comprising governors and ministers from the region, president of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo and representatives from the National Assembly, that he will visit states in the zone soon. “I want to assure you that I came into government with a clear conscience and I will also leave with a clear conscience,” he said. Earlier, Nwodo had articulated the demands of the zone and highlighted issues of state creation, restructuring, federal projects – Enugu-Onitsha road, Enugu-Port Harcourt road and Aba-Ikot-Ekpene road, among others. Nwodo also demanded urgent presidential interventions on the Enugu Airport, reticulation of the gas pipelines in the South-East and the standard gauge plan for railway construction. He commended the president for “remarkable achievements on security and the fight against corruption.’’ “We are ready to work with you; we are determined to work with you. We know you are a decisive leader and we know God will continue to give you the wisdom to govern Nigeria,” Nwodo declared. In his contribution, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi expressed satisfaction on the outcome of their discussions with the president on critical issues affecting the region. “You have no hatred for any state. You have treated all states with equality. What one state gets in the north, the other gets in the south,” the governor said.

Restructure Nigeria now – Olu Falae

Elder statesman and former minister of finance, Chief Olu Falae has cautioned that Nigeria must be restructured before the next general elections in 2019. The octogenarian, who was also the presidential candidate of the Alliance for Democracy, AD in the 1999 presidential election believes that for the country to move forward, she must go back to the 1963 constitution. According to him, what he is clamouring for is that everyone should remain in Nigeria, but it would be a more balanced Nigeria, where the ethnic groups are free to pursue their priorities. Speaking with Daily Sun, Falae said, “Most people are not interested in an election, if it is going to take place within this un-restructured Nigeria. The election would produce the same injustice and uncertainty. We must restructure before 2019. “Those who did not want it did not have free education. Chief Awolowo decided to have the Muslim Western Board to take care of the Western people going to Mecca. The other people did not have it. Fine! We decided to have a House of Chiefs and the East did not want to have one and there was no problem. That is what we need. Nobody should be forced to behave like another person. Uniformity does not mean unity. This is because we are different people with different objectives, cultures and values. “A heterogeneous society cannot operate a unitary government. Look at Britain that is our former colonial power, they are of the same race, colour, religion, language and culture and yet today, you have four governments in Britain. They include the parliament in Scotland, the Assembly in Cardiff, the Parliament in Northern Ireland and the Westminster defacto federal government. So Britain itself has gone into a federation although they are homogeneous. Here we have about 600 different ethnic groups, not the same culture, not the same language and you want to treat us as a homogeneous country and a unitary government. It is not possible. It does not make sense.”

Davido: Osinbajo pays condolence visit to DJ Olu’s father, Dapo Abiodun

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo visited the home of billionaire businessman, Dapo Abiodun on Saturday over the death of his son and Davido’s friend, Oluwagbemiga Abiodun aka DJ Olu. DJ Olu passed away last Saturday. He and his friend Chime Amaechi were ​reportedly ​found dead in a car. The incident occurred just days after the death of Tagbo, another member of Davido’s entourage. During his visit, Osinbajo encouraged the prayed for repose of the soul of the decease​d​ and urged the family to take heart. “May God grant friends and family of the deceased the fortitude to bear this great loss”, The Capital quoted him as saying. In an official statement by DJ Olu’s family, they appealed to the public to disregard any form of insinuations being peddled. The statement signed Seye Abiodun, reads in part: “The Abiodun family confirms the tragic and regrettable demise of our beloved son, Olugbemiga. “We know there are many questions as to how or why such tragedy would happen to such great individual but still, God is in control. “The past few days have been most trying for the family. We are saddened by his demise but we are comforted by the well wishes and kind thoughts of friends around the world. “Olugbemiga has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him. “He was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, idealist and selfless individual who was extremely inspirational to many. “The family hereby, pleads with the public to disregard insinuations being peddled by certain sections of the media about the actual cause of our son’s death​. “An official result of the autopsy conducted will be made available as soon as it is ready. Until then, we urge everyone to kindly respect our family’s need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately. “We remain humble as parents and a family, among several around the world who are bereaved via the tragic loss of a child. “It is never easy to come to terms with the heart-wrenching and enduring agony that accompanies the death of a loved son. “But our family will forever treasure memories of the extremely joyous days spent with Olugbemiga, prior to his demise. ​”​Those precious memories will stay with us forever.
