North ready for dialogue on restructuring – Elders’ Forum
The Northern Elders’ Forum, NEF, has stated that it is open to dialogue with other regions on the issue of restructuring the country. Chairman of NEF, Paul Unongo, said this while speaking with Punch on Sunday. He said the forum would respect any view that would strengthen the unity of the country with equal rights and opportunities for all citizens. Unogo spoke in reaction to a statement by a former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Tinubu had at a lecture organised by the King’s College Old Boys’ Association in Lagos, stated that Nigeria needed restructuring for correct balance. NEF however maintained that the region, because of its political and geographical advantages, would not be stampeded into taking decisions that would be inimical to its development. He said, “The North is very open to dialogue. I am the chairman of the northern elders and nobody can say we will not encourage dialogue. We love Nigeria but we will not be stampeded into carrying out someone’s agenda. “The uneducated North of pre-independence times was not the same North of today. Today, we have Ph.D holders in every discipline. “We told Awolowo to reject independence until Nigeria was divided into more equal parts. Awo said we shouldn’t worry and that once we gained independence, this would be done. I said I knew this would not be done. Today, Awo is dead and we are independent. “We spoke in 1957 and today is 2017, that is about 60 years ago. Because I was a small boy carrying Tarka’s bag, they didn’t listen to me. Today, we understand the advantage of being a big region. “So, if today, you don’t offer them anything and you say give us your advantage so that we can have a restructured Nigeria; and with the way the Igbos are doing their own agitation, I don’t think you will get many responses from the North. “I think we need a dialogue. I will be prepared to do that and I will remind them of what I said in 1957 and how my prediction came true. “It will not be easy for the North to say take away our advantages and give us nothing. They (southern elements) were the ones that allowed the British to do this. “I told Awolowo that no one would allow you to create more regions after independence.”

How Ondo SSG Allegedly Ordered Thugs To Attack Osun Commissioner Bola Ilori In Akure
The armed thugs that brutally attacked the Osun state commissioner for regional integration, Mr. Bola Ilori, at a public hearing organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure, the Ondo state capital, were part of a notorious political group known as “Abena Boys”. It was authoritatively learned that Mr. Ifedayo Abegunde, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government sponsored the thugs that led the brutal attack on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Ilori was attacked at a public hearing organized by the committee on “Restructuring and True Federalism” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the people of Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states to discuss on lingering issue bothering on true federalism in Nigeria. The committee, which had in attendance APC bigwigs among which are the party’s National Vice Chairman [South West], Pius Akinyelure, the Ondo State chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin and his Ekiti State counterpart, Chief Jide Awe, was headed by Mrs. Rachael Akpabio. The public hearing took place at the second bowl of the International event center, otherwise known as the ‘Dome’ along the Igbotoro road in Akure, the state capital. Mr. Ilori had earlier spoken at the public hearing before moving outside to grant an interview with selected journalists. SaharaReporters learnt that the thugs numbering five pounced on Mr. Ilori and tore his white short sleeve dress and undershirt after accusing him of working against the development of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state. Armed security officers [mostly the NSCDC, Police, and DSS] who were heavily present looked away as the venue became charged while the free for all fight lasted between “Abena Boys” and another group from Sun state known as Oramiyan Boys. The media aides to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu led by the duo of the commissioner for information, Yemi Olowolabi and the Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, pleaded with television reporters who were fully present and cover the event to not use the tape after they intervened. One of the reporters told SaharaReporters that the media aides at a time started threatening their cameramen who recorded the whole drama that played out during the attack. Saharareporters learns that the leader of the hoodlums that carried out the attack is known as Femi but popularly called “KEF”. The Secretary to the state government, Mr. Abegunde, in his reaction denied knowledge of those who sponsored the attackers on Mr. Ilori at the venue of the public hearing. He made the denial while addressing journalists in his office in Akure shortly after the program. “I didn’t sponsor anybody and I don’t know where everybody is just calling my name. if you notice I sat down inside the hall throughout the program, so how can I know what is happening outside the hall. “The person that is accusing me was even the one that brought thugs to the state from Osun state while they were brandishing the Oranmiyan logo with sticks in the arms threatening our people in Akure” he said.

Here Is What To Do If ATM Swallows Your Card
If the Automatic Teller Machine happens to swallow your card during transaction, there are certain things you are supposed to do. There are steps to protect your cards and what you can do if the Automatic Teller Machine swallows your card, according to snappygist.com Wait for 10 minutes to restart: As annoying as it may be, I suggest you wait 10 to 15 minutes first before doing anything. There is a good chance the ATM machine software will reset on its own and your card will spit back out. Take note of the time, place and location: If waiting for 10 to 15 minutes does not resolve the issue, well move on to this.Note down the time the machine swallowed your card and try to be as specific as possible. Note the date, the place you are, and the type of machine (if possible). For example, is it an ATM outside a bank and/or controlled and branded by the bank, or is it a stand-alone ATM in the street, or an ATM in a mall? Does it have a name, brand logo, and/or any other details? Is there a number you can call on the machine itself, or any helpful information that may be relevant? If so, you should make a note of it and have a quick look at the ATM to see if it has been tampered with. You may want to use your phone to take a picture of the ATM and the numbers on it so you can show a bank later. Contact the bank account provider: The bank or institution you use will have its own rules and own definitions. Some will say you have to raise a claim with the bank, others will say that you have to raise an inquiry, and some may say your account is frozen and freeze your account until the matter is resolved. It is not wise to contact the ATM provider unless the bank you use and the ATM provider are the same company. In this case, your problem may be resolved a little quicker. When you raise the issue with your bank, they will often contact the ATM provider; but if you raise it with the ATM provider, then they will refer you to your bank and/or account provider. If you can’t find the bank associated with the ATM, look for the contact number on the ATM (there usually is) and call it for support. You may be able to get a technician to come to the location right away and deal with the issue. If ATM swallows your card while abroad This is not a good situation as there may be language problems and it may be difficult to fix the problem on the spot, especially if the ATM is not attached to a bank but is in some other location. If you are not in your home country, the situation is more difficult as you may be dealing with language problems and it may not be easy to call up the bank on the spot. Minimise risk; we suggest you use an ATM outside of or, even better, inside of an actual bank while travelling abroad. If the ATM swallows your card, you can simply walk into the bank or call for assistance — the bank will be able to resolve the issue on the spot. Make sure you have a backup ATM card linked to the same account or a different bank account. If one ATM card gets eaten or lost, you still can access your bank account and get money. How to prevent ATM card issues while abroad Use ATMs inside of a bank branch lobby: If the ATM card gets swallowed, you can enlist the bank staff to resolve this for you. This is much easier than trying to resolve the issue if the ATM is in a remote area. So use ATM’s attached to an actual bank if you can. Enlist the help of a local to contact the number on the ATM/ATM bank: If you are in a foreign country, you may not be able to call the ATM company/bank branch yourself. If you are in a public area such as the metro, mall, airport, try contacting the local security or help desk. They may be able to contact the bank for you and explain the situation. If there is no security around or help desk close, you may have to ask people around you for help. Ask a local to call the contact number on the ATM if you don’t have a working phone and the language is not your own. Know your bank’s policy regarding ATM card problems while abroad: If you have ATM card issues while abroad, it’s a good idea to know your bank’s policy regarding this. Will they send you a new card in a reasonable amount of time for example? Consider using a travel credit card while abroad, especially when making large purchases: Credit cards have better protection, better exchange rates, and can be rush-replaced within a few business days. If you want to use it like debit card, preload the credit card with money (above your monthly balance and use it like an ATM card to withdraw the cash).
