JAMB Reveals Those Who Will Get Admission In 2017/2018 Session

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Thursday, said only candidates who meet the O’ level and A’ level requirements and other criteria set by institutions would be offered admission in 2017/2018. ‎JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, stated this at a Training and Sensitization Forum on Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for admission offers, candidates and stakeholders on in Abuja. Prof. Oloyede said: “Scoring higher than the cut-off mark does not guarantee admission but makes the candidate eligible for admission consideration. It is not UTME that qualifies the person. It is O level, A level that qualifies a person for admission. “That is why you can go from here to UK, you can go to Ghana, Uganda, Republic of Benin, nobody ask you of your UTME, they ask for your O level because by law it is the school cert that qualifies you not JAMB,” he said. He also warned that JAMB will not tolerate illegal admissions by any higher institution. The body also stated that students admitted illegally won’t be regularised anymore. “We know that we have abused the process. What we have been doing is to send N5,000 each to JAMB in the name of regularization without capturing their picture, without capturing anything. You pay N5,000 and then they are regularized. “We have not stopped to do backlog but from 2016 upward we will not allow anybody to do backdoor admission. Anybody that is not properly admitted cannot benefit from regularization. “You cannot admit anybody under the table. Let us know your problem and let us collectively solve the problem so that you do not need to do such thing. “We don’t have accurate data because what we have on record is different from real life. We cannot continue to do that. We will protest to the whole world that we have 500 students in our institutions but in reality they are about 1 million but 500,000 thousand have been admitted illegally,” Oloyede remarked.

7 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW AS A NEW STUDENT OF ANY INSTITUTION

Hey Fellas, Welcome to the University. The new world of wonders. I know you have that sensational feeling of been in school, well I remember my first  Year i also had That feeling it was like  opening your  Eyes to a new life.   A Place of liberty and no restrictions to your movement. Don’t be mislead by these things they are all distractions. As a First Year Student everything boils down to how you Started the First  Year.  Here are  Seven  Major things you must know as an 100 Level Student; 1 ° PURPOSE In your First  Year you’re new to the Environment and The People in it,  you basically have no Idea of the  Social do’s and don’t. Meanwhile in the school environment most First  Year Students loose  Focus by Pursuing What’s not Running and end up regretting it. They want to get engage in the recent happenings so as not to be called ” an ordinary  100 LEVEL STUDENT”  as this is discovered as an insult and most of them engage themselves with dangerous Individuals so as to feel among and therefore loose their main focus, their main goal. Your first  Year is Specifically meant to prepare you for other things Forthcoming. Imagine the final result of a First  Year Student to have a CGPA of 0.7 with ambiguous amount of Carry overs in just the beginning of your First Year  and Your Life. Learn to know your Purpose and the main reason you’re here for. 2 ° AVOID RELATIONSHIPS THAT DON’T SAIL Sweet Words are easy to say difficult to fulfill.  “i love you,  you’re sexy, you make my heart go Gaga” and alot of these are common nowadays. Ladies who are new to things are been fooled and later dumped. Taking no Sides on this,  as a First Year Student mostly Female your aim is to find an higher level lover or a level mate in order to win ” best couple”  ….??  As a popular musician once said ” you’re all in relationships that don’t sail” . Don’t misquote  me i never said relationships are not good  but doing the “wrong thing at the wrong time”  is totally uncalled for. You’re new to this whole environment, study  everyone know who is who instead of jumping from one opposite sex to the other. Avoid the intimacy and face your main objective. 3 °  SCHOOL HISTORY  This is commonly overlooked  but it is advisable for fresh students to know a brief history of the school they are in. Also as a fresh Student you’re  advised to know your Student Union Representatives in order to report unlikely and uneven cases so as to curb the repetition of such cases. Also it is advised to have your School I.D Card with you Always for Proper Identification and Certification as it is not expected of you to dispose it or misplace it in any way. However,  In cases of Lost  or Stolen I.D Card you’re expected to make a detailed report to the appropriate Authorities in the Institution and also to a nearby Police Station in order to avoid future Complications  and False Identification. Furthermore been conversant with the school surroundings might not be easy but it is advisable in order to foster your day to day planning of activities and also to avoid different activities clashing. 4 ° FRIENDS  The company you keep  as a First Year Student is crucial to your development and also affect your academic life. Try as much as possible to get the best company you can keep. Getting a good company in your first Year shapes your Moral and also your  Perepective towards Things. Getting your self Entangled to a friend whose sole Aim is to just Party all day long and he or she avoids classes, misses assignments is heading towards destruction. As they say ” Bad company corrupts good manners”  a little dent on your innocent self and Self proclaimed image can be shattered into pieces within a twinkle of an eye hereby bringing Shame unto you and also derailing you in which if proper care is not taken can affect you throughout your stay in School. 5 ° ACADEMIC CALENDER  This is very direct and it is essential for every fresh student to know his or her  academic calendar. An Academic Calendar  is a detailed Plan of the Academic session of an Institution. An academic calender serves as a guide for Both Students and Academic  Staffs of the Institution and it helps these individuals plan their activities in order to meet up to the calender. Meanwhile, As a fresh student this is an opportunity to plan your activities, your reading time table and other necessities depending on your scale of preference. Hereby giving you an edge to study for Examinations ahead and also test and other  Impromptu Test which can be giving at anytime  so you’re advised and expected to always be prepared. 6 ° KNOW THE DO’S AND DONT’S  In a Land where Their’s no Law Their’s no crime However in an Institution their are Laws and obligations laid down to avoid misconducts of any kind and to improve Students Moral and Social  Etiquette. As a fresh student you’re expected to know these rules and follow them as disobeying can lead to a great deal of consequences An example of such is involving yourself in Exam Malpractice,  Most Institutions Expel  such students while some Suspend students for a minimum of 2 Semesters. This deals a major blow in your  Academic life,  in a situation whereby you’re expected to use 4 years and Graduate with your Mates you end up spending an extra years just as a result of  A mistake you wish you never had done. Furthermore, The dos’ and donts’ stretches a long way to your behavior and manner of interactions to school authorities as most students due to their Stupidity as it is regarded as tend to act in a very outrageous manner hereby disobeying the Authorities on charge. Rules differ in different Institutions. However,  Most Institutions have laid down Rules, some common ones are; NO SMOKING, NO SAGGING, NO CULTISM, AVOID EXAM MALPRACTICES And so on….. These rules are there to help guide you But disobeying them  violates your right as a student of such Institution.   7 ° STAY POSITIVE  In conclusion, try as much as possible to stay positive don’t let your attention be diverted due to majority votes in been negative. Learn to have an optimistic mind hope only for the best and nothing more. Try to set your goal so high that if you can’t reach it you’re almost there. You’re still a fresh Student,  stay positive and work hard and it is certain the sky is the limit. Written by; Ademoyegun Ayomide Joseph (Campuslit.com Writer)

5 THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR BEFORE CHOOSING A PARTNER ON CAMPUS

This Article was compiled by CAMPUSLIT.COM and it is subjected to COPYRIGHT; Continue Reading and Enjoy.  5 THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR BEFORE CHOOSING A PARTNER ON CAMPUS; MONEY This is discovered as the main side of attraction to the opposite sex. As a female are you simply dating him because he has Money? Or you’re the playboy type who is only interested in making her feel fly just so that spoilt rich girl can spend her Father’s money on you? Mostly ladies of nowadays are driven by the recent uprising of most guys involved in illegal businesses in which they lie for a living, as a lady dating such individual and expect that kind of guy to be faithful to her. It is highly impossible but most ladies are driven by the money they tend not to care and they let down their guard and end up turning themselves into prostitutes who only date for the money. Choosing a partner on campus simply has to do with love and patience which cannot be bought by any price. If you as a person you End up Dating the opposite sex just because he has Money, In a situation whereby he or she goes broke you end up switching partners by the time you realise it within your 4 – 5 Years stay on Campus you’ve had over a Dozen Partners which makes you no different from A H*o*e be it a male or Female. TOLERANCE You can’t possibly be in a relationship and not be the Tolerating Type. Before you choose a partner Watch for signs whether he or she can tolerate your kind of Attitude, if you choose a partner with a mindset of ” he or she will change when we start dating” It’s all a blatant lie that’ll lead you nowhere and Truth be told you’re just deceiving yourself. Imagine a scenario whereby you’re having a crush with someone who has anger issues and takes it hard on anyone who’s near him in which if care is not taking leads to a very tough fight. Or you are already in a relationship with a girl who goes to party almost every night and lies to you by giving flimsy excuses. You saw that attitude before dating her but you felt he or she will change. Don’t mistake your Tolerance for Stupidity. They are totally two different things. For you to tolerate an individual you’re interested in you have to be able to speak out to them, you Tolerating them in this context simply implies you studying such person’s relationship and interaction with others in order to fit in perfectly with your personality so as to avoid unexpected surprises and a benefiting way to deal with it. SELFISHNESS Different individuals place themselves on different self Esteem and Worth. The level of How you value your personality and your image is Known as Self Esteem, However, when those personality are valued too much and in the process deprives others of their privilege is known as Selfishness. Relationship-wise before engaging in anything know if your Man/Woman is an open minded individual who’s not aimed at only taking for him or herself alone what could be beneficial to others. Many notions have been driven and debated over and over again on how proper it is to give the opposite sex money in order to avoid being selfish in any kind. Talking from my own point of view with no sides taken, the interaction you Both have had morally, socially and otherwise judges the character of how he or she is willing to give out. Don’t misquote most Selfishness for Money alone. Although most are driven by money, but in choosing your partner you’re not interested in his money but the opposite sex is not interested in giving anything out of any kind. It is advisable to avoid such as both partners tend to look for greener pastures elsewhere if they later get into a relationship on Campus. PRIDE As i have earlier said it all boils down to your self Esteem, Pride comes before a Fall, you as an individual on Campus single ready to mingle puts yourself above others thinking no one can out-throne you maybe because of your looks, academic ability, popularity, money, .. Etc. If you fall in that category, either you’re the one with the pride or the one having a crush on someone with Pride issues. The best possible thing to do is to try as much as possible to let him know how he or she is been perceived to be, and try to help alleviate the before getting into the relationship. However is such individual tend not to yield I’ll simply advise you to take a step back then move ahead to a better option, Pride comes before a fall doesn’t mean you have to fall for the Pride. APPEARANCE A Popular saying goes thus ” the way you dress is the way you’d be addressed” Choosing a partner on campus os highly skeptical and is not suppose to be a random thing anyone can just hop into anyhow as it is nowadays. Your appearance shows the manner at which people will socialise and relate with you. Having to deal with an embarrassment as a boyfriend or girlfriend is highly uncalled for and could have been dealt with if proper measures were taken, been tidy produces a decent individual which boosts a dress sense. You don’t expect to be dressed as A prostitute and expect any decent man in his right senses to approach you. Or rather a guy sagging his Pants and expect to meet a good lady to have a relationship with. In choosing a person on campus first of all look at how this individual dresses, the manner at which he or she relates, response to certain circumstances, and how he’s been viewed to be also from your own point of view. As far as all this criteria are met, hope only for the best and you’re Good to Go. Written by; Ademoyegun Ayomide Joseph (Campuslit.com Writer)

How Ondo SSG Allegedly Ordered Thugs To Attack Osun Commissioner Bola Ilori In Akure

The armed thugs that brutally attacked the Osun state commissioner for regional integration, Mr. Bola Ilori, at a public hearing organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure, the Ondo state capital, were part of a notorious political group known as “Abena Boys”. It was authoritatively learned that Mr. Ifedayo Abegunde, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government sponsored the thugs that led the brutal attack on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Ilori was attacked at a public hearing organized by the committee on “Restructuring and True Federalism” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the people of Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states to discuss on lingering issue bothering on true federalism in Nigeria. The committee, which had in attendance APC bigwigs among which are the party’s National Vice Chairman [South West], Pius Akinyelure, the Ondo State chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin and his Ekiti State counterpart, Chief Jide Awe, was headed by Mrs. Rachael Akpabio. The public hearing took place at the second bowl of the International event center, otherwise known as the ‘Dome’ along the Igbotoro road in Akure, the state capital. Mr. Ilori had earlier spoken at the public hearing before moving outside to grant an interview with selected journalists. SaharaReporters learnt that the thugs numbering five pounced on Mr. Ilori and tore his white short sleeve dress and undershirt after accusing him of working against the development of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state. Armed security officers [mostly the NSCDC, Police, and DSS] who were heavily present looked away as the venue became charged while the free for all fight lasted between “Abena Boys” and another group from Sun state known as Oramiyan Boys. The media aides to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu led by the duo of the commissioner for information, Yemi Olowolabi and the Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, pleaded with television reporters who were fully present and cover the event to not use the tape after they intervened. One of the reporters told SaharaReporters that the media aides at a time started threatening their cameramen who recorded the whole drama that played out during the attack. Saharareporters learns that the leader of the hoodlums that carried out the attack is known as Femi but popularly called “KEF”. The Secretary to the state government, Mr. Abegunde, in his reaction denied knowledge of those who sponsored the attackers on Mr. Ilori at the venue of the public hearing. He made the denial while addressing journalists in his office in Akure shortly after the program. “I didn’t sponsor anybody and I don’t know where everybody is just calling my name. if you notice I sat down inside the hall throughout the program, so how can I know what is happening outside the hall. “The person that is accusing me was even the one that brought thugs to the state from Osun state while they were brandishing the Oranmiyan logo with sticks in the arms threatening our people in Akure” he said.

Barcelona Midfielder Rakitic Says – Barcelona Selling Neymar “A Bad Decision”

Barcelona midfielder, Ivan Rakitic, has said it was a “bad decision” for the club to sanction the record-breaking €222million sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain. The La Liga giants hardly had a choice, after Neymar made it clear he was ready to leave and PSG stumped up the cash to trigger his release clause. Barca have already spent part of the money on the likes of Paulinho and Ousmane Dembele, but Rakitic concedes that the 25-year-old will be a big miss at Camp Nou. “For me personally, it was really hard, not only because he’s one of the biggest players; also, for me, he’s a big person. “He was really important for our dressing room, and for me he’s one of the best guys I know in football. “So for me it was really a bad decision because I liked to have him in my team,” Rakitic told the BBC World Service.
